Under our Terms of Service, you allow Eventgroove to collect and remit tax on Eventgroove fees in jurisdictions where Eventgroove is legally required to do so. Please note that you’re responsible for understanding all of your tax obligations. In some areas, taxing authorities (city, county and/or state) may impose separate taxes on the same transaction that Eventgroove does not collect.
If you’ve been collecting tax in Arizona
In most jurisdictions, Eventgroove’s collection of tax on the Eventgroove fees does not change your responsibility to collect tax on the amount you charge to your attendees.
You’re still responsible to collect, remit, and report to the tax authorities the correct amount of tax due on the amounts you charge to your attendees. If you determine you need to charge tax, you can add tax on ticket sales.
If you’re not sure if you need to charge tax on your ticket sales, please consult your tax advisor. Eventgroove can’t give you tax advice.
If you or your event is tax-exempt
Generally, and with very limited exceptions, Arizona doesn’t provide an overall exemption from Transaction Privilege Tax (“TPT”). If you have an exemption certificate for the state where your venue is located, you may upload it in your 'My Account' profile. When your event is published, a third party integration will assess if the exemption applies to the sales tax on admission tickets in the relative jurisdiction. If you have a certificate uploaded and sales tax is populating on transactions, yet you have identified where an exemption is explicit to your use case, please send the appropriate documentation listed below along with the regulatory URL identifying the applicable tax code to support@eventgroove.com. Be sure to include your Event ID so that Eventgroove Support can determine if a manual exemption is allowable.
- Completed Transaction Privilege Tax Exemption Certificate
- IRS Determination Letter
